Who is bouclé fabric not suitable for?

Bouclé’s raised loops can trap more dust than flat weave fabrics, so we do not recommend it for families with young children or people who are sensitive to dust.

The looped surface can also make dust harder to remove, making bouclé less suitable for those who prefer a sofa that is easier to maintain.

It is also easier to get snagged by sharp objects, leading to visible wear and tear over time.

Can I choose bouclé fabric on every sofa?

We do not recommend using bouclé for sofas with fully removable covers.

Velcros used to secure the covers to the sofa frame may get caught on the fabric loops when the covers are upholstered or removed, pulling the fabric's fibers. The same issue surfaces when you try to wash the fabric after removing it.

Bouclé also has high shrinkage rate, making it harder to put back on after wash.

Which sofa style work best with bouclé fabric?

Bouclé looks especially beautiful on curved sofas. The soft, rounded silhouettes complement the fabric's textured surface, creating a warm and inviting appearance. We use it as the default fabric for many of our curved sofas.

Its soft texture adds warmth to clean, simple spaces and pairs well with neutral colours, natural wood, and rounded furniture. It is a good choice for homes that feel calm and cosy rather than bold or highly decorative.
