How Rug Digital Printing Works?

Designs for our washable rugs are printed via sublimation printing.

In simple terms, it's a method of printing that transfers a design into the rug fabric using ink and heat.

Key steps in the sublimation printing process:

  • Design is printed onto a special paper
  • Inks used on the paper turns into gas when brought under heat
  • The gas combines with the fabric, resulting in a permanent print on the fabric

The effects of sublimation printing are permanent and less prone to fading as the ink is embedded in the fabric rather than simply laying on top like a normal print.

Steps to Customize Rug Designs

There are two ways to customize rug designs by reaching out to us via WhatsApp :

  • Method 1: Share with us a design you like in the highest definition possible
  • Method 2: Tell us how you want to customize the colours for one of our carpet designs

Upon order confirmation, our design team will proceeed to enhance the design via photo editing tools to prepare for digital printing on the rug.

Note: this process is a must for a design to be printed clearly. For example, a 200cm x 300cm rug has a definition requirement in excess of 9,000 pixels.

Post picture enhancement, your customized rug design is queued for production via one of the sublimation printers at the factory.

How Dimension Customization Works?

We allow customizations of rugs to any width and depth up to 200cm (limit for sublimation printer).

During the dimension customization process, the rug designs are reformatted in the following methods:

  • Repeating patterns: the number of repeating patterns are increased or reduced based on customized dimensions, the width to depth ratio is changed for customized rug
  • Complex patterns: the picture is either magnified or shrunk to ensure fit on customized dimensions, the width to depth ratio is maintained for customized rug

Lastly, the rug pad is also customized in dimensions to fit with the customzied dimension rug cover pattern.

Steps to Customize Rug Dimensions

Reach out to us via WhatsApp to discuss about the desired rug dimensions and pattern of rug desgin that you have in mind.

For rugs with customized dimensions that fall within the range of default rug sizes, it will follow the upper range prices.

For rugs with customized dimensions that is larger than our biggest default dimensions, we will provide an additional quote for you.
