What You Need to Know

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes it washable?

Washable fabrics are designed to shrink less and more evenly in both length and width. Our selected washable fabrics typically shrink by less than 1% after washing. This helps the covers retain their shape and makes them easier to refit.

They also do not have fabric backing or gel applied underneath, as these layers may loosen or get washed off during machine washing.

How often can I wash it?

We recommend washing the covers only when necessary, generally every 6–12 months depending on how frequently the sofa is used. Based on feedback from our fabric supplier, the covers are expected to withstand approximately 5–10 washes. Spacing out washes can help preserve their fit, appearance and performance.

Between washes, spot-cleaning spills promptly can help prevent fresh stains from setting permanently into the fabric.

Who is it not suitable for?

Washable fabrics used on removable-cover sofas may not suit those who prefer a smooth, tightly upholstered appearance with minimal creasing.

The covers are secured to the sofa frame with Velcro and may shift slightly with use, leading to creasing. Washable fabrics also do not have backing or gel underneath, giving them less structure and making creases more visible than on fixed upholstery.
