We offer water- and stain-resistant treatment at no additional cost for all eligible fabrics available for our fabric sofas.
The treatment adds a protective coating that helps slow liquid absorption and makes everyday spills easier to manage. Liquids will briefly bead on the surface, giving you more time to wipe them away before they soak into the fabric and potentially leave a stain.

Who may want to skip it?
Water resistance treatment may not be suitable for people with very sensitive skin, as the added coating reduces breathability and may cause discomfort for some users.
You may also prefer untreated fabric if softness is important to you. The coating can make the surface feel slightly firmer or less natural, and some treated fabrics may develop a light waxy or greasy feel.
How long does it last?
The treatment typically lasts between six months and one year. Areas used more frequently may lose their protection sooner, while washing can also remove the coating.
Once the effect wears off, you can easily reapply it using water resistance sprays (such as Scotchgard) available in stores or online. The process is straightforward and requires little prior knowledge.
Can it be applied to every fabric?
We do not recommend the treatment for suede, easy clean or natural fabrics. It does not adhere well on suede fabric, while easy clean fabrics already have their own specialised protective coating.
Natural fabrics are also best left untreated. Breathability and a natural hand feel are among their main benefits, and adding a water resistance coating may reduce that.
How does it work?
Water resistance treatment adds a thin protective coating that makes liquids form droplets instead of soaking into the fabric immediately.
The coating makes the fabric less attractive to water, causing the liquid to pull together into droplets. This slows absorption and gives you more time to wipe away accidental spills before they soak in and cause stains.
