Mattress Size Guide

Choosing the right mattress size goes beyond width and length. Consider how much sleeping space you need, your height, mattress thickness, and how the mattress will fit with your bed frame.

This guide walks you through each factor to help you find a mattress size that suits both your sleeping needs and your bedroom setup.

Mattress Width

Mattress width determines how much sleeping space you have. Consider how many people will be using the mattress and how much room you prefer when sleeping.

Mattress Length

Your mattress should be long enough for you to lie comfortably without your feet hanging over the edge or resting too close to it. To suit different heights, we offer both 190cm and 200cm mattress lengths.

190cm Length

Suitable for most sleepers below 175cm in height, providing enough length to stretch out comfortably with sufficient space for your pillow.

Best For Sleepers below 175cm who prefer a slightly more compact mattress and bed frame
Recommended sleeper height for mattresses with length at 190cm

200cm Length

Suitable for taller sleepers or those who prefer extra length, providing more space to stretch out comfortably with sufficient allowance for your pillow

Best For Sleepers above 175cm or those who prefer a longer mattress for added sleeping space
Recommended sleeper height for mattresses with length at 200cm

Mattress Thickness

Mattress thickness affects both how the mattress feels and the final overall height of your bed. Consider it together with your bed frame rather than choosing thickness on its own.

Consider Your Overall Bed Height

A thicker mattress raises the sleeping surface, while a thinner mattress makes your overall bed height lower.

For Adults & Kids Consider keeping the overall bed height below 60cm for easier access when getting in and out of bed
For Seniors Consider an overall bed height of at least 45cm to make sitting down and standing up easier, with less strain required from the knees and legs

Check Your Headboard

If your bed frame has a headboard, check whether the mattress needs to fit within a recessed section or opening.

Why It Matters A mattress that is too thick or too thin may not fit properly within the recessed area of a bed frame with a headboard

Bed Frame Compatibility

Whether you already have a bed frame makes a difference to the order in which you should choose your mattress dimensions.

Haven't Bought a Bed Frame Yet?

Choose the mattress around your sleeping needs first, then select a bed frame that works around it.

1
Choose your width Based on the number of sleepers and how much sleeping space you prefer
2
Choose your length Based on your height and available bedroom space
3
Choose your mattress Select the comfort and firmness that suits you, which will determine the mattress thickness
4
Choose your bed frame Work backwards from your preferred overall bed height to find a suitable bed slat height

Already Have a Bed Frame?

Your bed frame becomes the starting point. Measure the internal mattress space before choosing your mattress.

Check These 3 Dimensions

Match the mattress width and length to the bed frame, then check the bed slat and headboard dimensions to determine a suitable mattress thickness.
