Helping a Customer Customise His Castle Sofa to Suit His Needs

When a customer reached out to us interested in our Castle Fabric Sofa, he had a specific request: to use our hypoallergenic Medici fabric series instead of the standard polyester-based options. He explained that polyester content in fabrics made him itch, and he was seeking a more skin-friendly alternative. The Medici fabric, made from 60% cotton and 40% linen, was the perfect solution — organic, breathable, and ideal for sensitive skin.

We provided a custom quote using the Medici fabric series, which is 2–3 times more expensive than our standard fabric selection due to its higher natural fibre content. After reviewing the details, the customer gave his approval, understanding the additional investment required for using this upholstery material.

Next, we discussed the sofa’s size. He wanted the Castle sofa to be 220cm wide to suit the layout of his home. We suggested constructing the frame in two parts for easier delivery access through lifts and corridors. However, he preferred a single-piece frame for a cleaner look. We advised him to carefully check the available access space before confirming, as a one-piece frame could pose challenges during delivery in some buildings.

Once everything was confirmed, we proceeded with production. Our team crafted the custom sofa over two weeks. As part of our process, we shared a photograph of the finished piece on the factory floor so the customer could review it before shipment. He was pleased with the outcome and gave us the go-ahead to proceed.

With his approval, we arranged prompt delivery of the finished sofa. It arrived safely and was placed in his home just as planned. It was a rewarding collaboration, ensuring the sofa not only matched his space but also met his personal comfort requirements.
