Customised 3.6m Claudia U-Shaped Sofa for HDB Home
When our customer first reached out to us, she already had a clear picture in her mind. She was looking for a large U-shaped sectional sofa, something that would stretch across her living room and offer space for the whole family to relax. Her home was a generous 5-room HDB flat, and she wanted a sofa that would truly fill the space without making it feel too cramped or too empty. She told us she was looking for something around 3.6 metres long, so we knew straight away that this was going to be a special piece.
We suggested she take a look at our Claudia U-shaped Sectional Sofa. It has a balanced and modern look, and it could be adjusted to fit the exact layout she had in mind. To help her visualise better, we showed her a version of the Claudia U Shaped Sectional Sofa that we had previously done at exactly 3.6m for another customer. That sofa gave her a real sense of how it might look in her own home. She liked what she saw, especially the overall proportions and how it made good use of space.
Still, she had a few things she wanted to adjust. While the overall length was perfect, she felt the standard chaise at 1.8m was too long. It would stick out too much for her liking. So for her case, we brought the chaise depth down to 1.6m instead. In addition, she wanted the chaise to have an armrest as well, so it would feel more finished and practical when she had guests over.
Once the adjustments were noted, we prepared a quote for her customised sofa based on the new layout. Before confirming the order, she had one more question. She was wondering if the backrest cushions could be made higher. She wanted something that would offer better support for her back and neck.
We checked in with our factory and worked through the possibilities. After some discussion, we suggested increasing the backrest height to 50cm. It would give the added comfort she was after while still keeping the structure strong. We advised against going any higher as it could lead to sagging over time. She appreciated the clear explanation and agreed with the updated height.
With the dimensions finalised, we moved on to fabric selection. She told us she wanted something that was soft to the touch but also easy to clean. She loved how it turned out and gave us the go-ahead to arrange for shipping to Singapore.
When the sofa arrived at her home, it fit perfectly in her living room. The size, the backrest height and the new chaise all worked beautifully together.
